Pole Bruises, Pole Kisses, and Why They’re a Badge of Honor

Pole bruises — lovingly called pole kisses — are a rite of passage.

Why they happen:

  • your body is learning new contact points

  • pressure + friction = temporary marks

  • your skin adapts over time

How to reduce them:

  • warm up properly

  • avoid blood‑thinning lotions

  • ice after class if needed

They’re not a sign you’re doing something wrong — they’re proof you’re getting stronger.

Women practice pole dancing in a studio. One is performing an upside-down pose with another assisting. The room has mirrors and wood floors.
